週5日制Ｋｉｎｄｅｒｇａｒｔｅｎは、現地アメリカのこども達と同等レベルのハイレベルな英語習得と、幼児期に必要とされる知育指導を始め、総合幼児教育の指導を行い、真の国際人の育成を目的とした
プログラムです。さまざまなアクティビティーを通し、子供達が自ら学ぶ姿勢を育み、楽しく魅力的な環境設定の中でプログラムを行って参ります。これからの社会では、ただ聞いて話せるだけの英語力では、真の国際人とは言えません。文章を読み、考え、それに対して自らの意見や気持ちを表現していく力やｗｒｉｔｉｎｇ力も当然欠かせないものです。

子供達に最も必要なスキルの一つとして、クリエイティブ力があります。これからの国際社会を生きていくために、まさに必要な力と言えるでしょう。クリエイティブ力は、さまざまな場面で必要とされます。
もちろん生活の中でも必要とされるスキルでもあり、問題解決力、英語力を伸ばすためにも必要な力です。例えば、子供達は、身近で何かおきたとき、どう考え、どう対処するのでしょう。その問題は、年齢によってさまざまなものがあります。

0歳：お腹が減って、ママを呼ぶためにどうするでしょう。
1歳：ある物が、おもちゃなのか食べ物なのかを判断するとき、どうするでしょう。
2歳：つみきを高く積み上げるため、どのように工夫をしてつみあげるでしょう。
3歳：お医者さんごっこをしながら、お腹が痛いよ～というお友達にどのようにしてあげるでしょうか。

すべて、お母様や身近にいる方たちとの関わりの中、何度も何度も体験することで理解し、覚え、分析し、発見し、そして自ら問題解決をする力を身につけていきます。そのためにも、子供達には良い環境と、良いアドバイザーが必要です。また、子供達はひとりひとり個性も違いますし、月齢も発達段階によってさまざまなゴールがあると私たちは考えます。ゆえに、この大切な幼児期には、一斉教育による教育よりもひとりひとりの発達段階に応じたプログラムの中で、できる限りたくさんの体験をし、経験を重ね、その中でじっくり考える時間を与えることが大切です。子供達はその中で、適切なアドバイスを受け、自分で判断することや選ぶことを学び、「やればできるんだ」という体験の中、たくさんの自信と自尊心を身につけ、自ら意欲的に新しい物事にチャレンジする姿勢が育ちます。そして、お友達を尊重することも一緒に学んでいくのです。

Our goal of the kindergarten program is for the children to gain a high level English communication skill, comparable to the level of the native speakers in the US. Children are expected to attend the kindergarten program five days a week where they receive necessary childhood education to become enthusiastic learners ready to explore the world.

Through different activities, we encourage children to acquire their desire to learn using fun and interesting environmental settings.
We cannot call someone a true international person just with the ability to listen and speak in English.
Not only do we need to be able to read and think in English but also need the skill to express our opinion and emotion in English as well. Writing skill is also necessary.

One of the most necessary skills for children is creativity.
Creativity is a need to survive in this international society and is necessary in many situations.
Creativity is a skill which is used and required in everyday life but it is also needed in order to solve different problems and to improve the English skill.

For example, when something happens to the children what do they think and how do they respond?
This situation differs in age.

Up to age 1: What do they do to call their mother when they get hungry?
Age 1: How do they know and judge the object they see in front of them is food or toy?
Age 2: What do they do in order to pile blocks as high as they can?
Age 3: When they are doing a doctor-patient role play, what would the pretend doctor do to help the pretend patient with a stomachache?

From being around their parents and friends, children gain the ability to solve various problems. By being in the same situation over and over again, they learn to understand, remember, analyze, and discover. That is why it is necessary for children to be in a good environment with people who can give good advice.

Each individual has different personality and we believe that there are various goals depending on their monthly age and their developmental level.
That is why it is very important for children in the early childhood stage to have many different experiences according to their growth level so they can take their time to think and learn.

With the support of appropriate advice, children will gain confidence and learn to experiment and face challenges.
Children also learn to respect each other.

At Aloha, we believe the creativity skill of each child will be structured and will blossom at early childhood stage. We would like to assist these children to become enthusiastic learners ready to explore the world by using different curriculum based on each child’s growth.
This is why we opened up our kindergarten program with small number of students in each class.

Kindergarten（幼稚園コース）では、朝１０時１５分から２時１５分。（言語は基本として英語のみでの授業です）。そして、２時３０分からは日本に住む皆さんのためのプログラムとして、日本の常識や文化、そして幼児教育をサービスプログラムとして行わせていただきます。（日本人ティーチャーによる日本語でのカリキュラム）
英語の習得では、聞く・話す・読む・書くの４つの分野の習得をバランスよく行います。
言語は、ただ読めるだけでも話せるだけでも、意味がありません。皆さんがその言語を使い、どう自分自身を表現することができるかがとても大切なのです。
その為に、Science・Math・Art・Story・Outdoor Play・Theater・M&M（ミュージック＆ムーブメント）など、毎月決められたテーマをもとに活動を行い、当スクールのアカデミックなプログラムでクリエイティブ力を伸ばし、英語を使いこなす練習を行います。
また、日本に住む皆さんには、日本の知識も常識も大変大切なスキルです.
素晴らしい国際人になっていただくためにも、欧米文化・日本文化の良いところを、マスターしていただきたいと思います。そのため、当スクールでは、サービスプログラムとして、日本のカリキュラムをご用意いたしました。日本で生活をしていく子どもたちには、日本の文化、感覚、ふるまいを身につけることもとても重要なことです。

Our Kindergarten hours are from 10:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. (classes are operated in English). Japanese Learning Program is offered from 2: 30 p.m., where we provide education of Japanese culture and common knowledge, important for living in Japan (Curriculum in Japanese).

Students will acquire the skill of listening, speaking, reading, and writing of the English language.　They will not only learn how to read and write English, they will learn how to express themselves using the language skills they have obtained.

Our academic program includes science, math, art, story, outdoor play, theatre, M&M, and sign language lessons that are based on monthly themes. We incorporate the English language into these academic routines which help the children increase their creativity skills along with their English skills.

In order for the children to become great internationally-minded individuals, we strongly believe that acquiring aspects of both American and Japanese culture is essential. At Aloha, we have a service program which is operated with our Japanese curriculum for understanding and appreciating Japanese culture, values, and manners. The differences of American and Japanese cultures will be understood and the qualities of each will be acquired appropriately.

We would like the parents to know and understand that Aloha International Preschool is a school for the children. Our staff will do our best to support the growth of the students.

子供達は、アートの時間が大好きです！アートは、子供達の豊かな想像力を引き出すことのできる
素晴らしい時間です。毎月のテーマに沿ったさまざまなアートやクラフトを通して、子供達は自由に作品をイメージし、たった一つのオリジナルの作品を作り出します。また、共同制作の時間では、お友達同士で協力しあい、一つの作品を作り出すことの喜びも味わえます。
このように、第二の言語とも言われるアートを通し、将来にわたり必要とされる想像力を身につけていきます。また、ペイント、切り貼り、形づくりなど、さまざまなタイプの工作や技法を通して、子供達は自然と視覚および手作業のバランスを身につけていきます。

Children love art! We bring out their creativity and great imagination during art time. Based on our monthly theme, children use their imagination to make their original artwork and crafts. During group art, they learn how to cooperate with their classmates to make one piece of artwork. In this way we help develop the children’s creativity and imagination which will be required in the future. They will acquire a well-balanced eye and hand coordination by using paint, scissors, glue, and various types of tools and materials.

Mathには、たくさんの種類や形があります。数・空間・形・パターン・長さ・重さなど、すべての概念を学んでいくことが必要です。２+２＝４という数字や文字での勉強の前に、子供達は、さまざまな分野を体験を通して理解し、具体的に学んでいくことが必要です。子供たちを紙や鉛筆での算数に追い込まず、まずはしっかりと物事を論理的に考える力を身につけることが必要です。
そのために、日常生活を通して、物を数えたり、同じものを束ねたり、積み重ねたり、取り除いたり、分け合ったりする機会が必要なのです。このような経験を通し、初めてたし算・引き算・割り算・掛け算を本当に理解できるようにもなるのです。そして、算数の基礎となる力を身につけ、応用にも対応できるのです。

① りんごが8個あります。4人で同じ数にわけるには、一人何個かな？
② ウサギが6匹いますが、ニンジンは4本しかありません。あと何本あればよいのでしょう。
など、こんなに難しい算数のコンセプトも、体験を通し経験を重ねることで、イメージをし、理解をする力がつきます。やがて、自分でも問題をたくさん作っていきます。すごいですね！

Math is classified into many different categories. Each theory of numbers, shapes, dimensions, patterns, lengths, and weight is very important to learn. Through different experiences, children learn the details of these areas, even before they learn numerical addition and subtraction on a piece of paper.

As children go through the day, there are many opportunities for them to count numbers and also bulk, pile, eliminate, and share different objects. This process helps them to learn to add, subtract, divide, and multiply numbers. They acquire the fundamental skills for math and will be able to use that skill in different situations.

① There are 8 apples. In order to share with 4 children, how many apples can each child have?
② There are 6 rabbits and 4 carrots. How many more carrots do you need to feed all 6 rabbits?

Children can solve these complicating mathematical concepts by remembering their experiences. It is amazing how children learn to be able to make their own problems/questions such as the ones above.

理科の実験は、結果や答えを教えることが目的ではありません。
結果を導き出すまでの過程がとても大切になります。仮説をたてたり結果を予測したりすることで、想像力や論理的に物事を考える力を育みます。実際にさまざまな物を使用し、実験することで、子供達は、さまざまなアイディアを出しあいながら自分の意見を発表していきます。子供たちは、自ら進んで探求し、考え、自由に創造を膨らませていきます。
考える力は、問題解決力にもつながり、クリエイティブ力を更に広げます！子供たちが生み出したアイディアはもちろん、どれも素晴らしいことは、言うまでもありません。また、子供たち自身も、自分のアイディアが認められることで自信と更なる探究心へとも繋がります。いつの間にか、想像力や論理的に考える力を身につけることができるでしょう！
子供達は、魔法のようなサイエンスが大好きです！！！

Our purpose for science experiments is not only discovering the solution and result but also, for the children to observe and learn from the process of these experiments. They will learn the hypothesis or forecast the result and enhance their imagination and thinking skill. We use variety of objects in our experiments so they can come up with different ideas and opinions. When they learn to think, they can also solve problems and enhance their creativity. They will explore various ideas and gain self-confidence when their opinions are supported by their classmates. This is a great way to develop their imagination and think logically. Children love science because it is like MAGIC!!

ミュージック＆ムーブメントは、英語のサウンドとリズムに合わせて、身体を動かし、英語の歌やダンスを行いながら、英語のリズム感や感情表現など、表現力とクリエイティビティを高めていくプログラムです。
また、米国フィットネスミュージックを代表するキンボエデュケーショナルの曲を使用し、ゆっくりとしたリズムのものからリズミカルなものまでさまざまな曲を通し、健康な体を作るフィジカルフィットネスを行い、小さな筋肉から大きな筋肉までバランスよく動かし、5歳児までに必要とされる動きをバランス良く取り入れ、将来に関わる基礎運動力・筋力アップを育みます。近年では、大脳の研究により、音楽を聴いたり、替え歌をつくることにより、脳細胞の配線図が活発につくられることがわかりました。何度も何度も繰り返し聴くことにより、英語を話す・聞くなどの脳の力を更に強めることにもつながるプログラムです。

Music& Movement is a program where children learn to move their bodies to English sounds and rhythms. Creativity and physical language development are enhanced while singing and dancing to English songs and music.
We use variety of songs and music from KIMBO Educational, one of the major fitness music companies in the US. Quiet, comforting music is used to relax their bodies and lively music is used to express themselves freely with their creativity. Children develop physical coordination by using different muscles in their bodies and build the physical foundation that they need by age 5. Small muscle skills are refined and large motor skills are developed. In a recent research, nerves in our brains are stimulated when we listen to music and create our own rhymes and chants. English comprehension and oral skills are enhanced when children listen to English songs and music repetitively during their Music & Movement.

Show and Tellはアロハの生徒のお気に入りの活動のひとつです。毎回テーマに合わせて、写真や絵などをご自宅より持ちより、お友達に発表していきます。はじめは、一人ひとりが自分のことや、宝物などについて、クラスメイトに発表していきます。月のテーマにあわせた発表を行い、まわりのお友達からの質問にも答えていきます。まさに、英語のプレゼンテーションです。また、英語力を伸ばすだけでなく、自らを表現する力を身につけ、自信と積極的な姿勢やお友達を尊重する気持ちを育みます。子供たちのとても素敵なプレゼンテーションの時間です。

Show and Tell has been our children’s favorite activity. Children bring in items from home based on each theme. In the beginning, they will present about themselves or their treasures to their classmates. They will learn to ask questions to their friends who will be presenting and also to answer when questions are asked. English listening and oral skills are developed as well as self-confidence and their respect to their friends. This is the time for our to make wonderful presentation!!

外遊び　Outdoor Activity
お天気の日には外に出かけます。広いスペースや土手に行き、自然を感じながらたくさん走ります。
遊具が何もなくても、先生やお友達と協力してゲームを考え、一緒に遊ぶ力を身につけます。
また、ゆっくりと歩きながら季節の移り変わりや、季節ごとの植物・虫などに目を向けて観察をしたり、お話をしたり、自然の生き物についても学んでいけるとても貴重な時間です。
雨天時は、室内で楽しいゲームを行います。

Children enjoy outdoor time every day. They move their bodies and run freely in a big open area or by the river side. They make up games with their teachers and classmates, even without any play structures. This is a very valuable time to explore changing seasons and observe plants and insects. They talk about nature and wild living creatures. On rainy days, they play interactive games in their classroom.

欧米文化においても、日本文化においても、マナーを知ることはとても大切なことです。あいさつからはじまり、日常の生活の中のたくさんの場面でマナーを学んでいきます。お友達の近くを通りたいときにも、自然とExcuse meと声をかけあっていきます。毎月お出かけする社会見学では、外出時のマナーも学びます。
マナーとは、相手への思いやりや状況判断も合わせて学んでいくのです。

Understanding and using correct manners is a must in both Japanese and American cultures. Starting with greeting, children learn to manners in different situations in their daily lives. They will learn to say “Excuse me” when they need to pass by their friend. They learn how to behave in public scenes when they go on field trips. Caring about others and understanding the situation are also aspects to the manners as well.

毎月一冊のストーリーを通して、劇遊びを行います。毎回さまざまな配役を、子供達自信で決め、
とてもかわいらしく演じてくれます。
まずは、ストーリーの一部を抜粋し、簡単なものから実際に演じていきます。ティーチャーのナレーションに合わせて劇を行い、セリフを覚えながらお友達と協力して楽しくストーリーをすすめていきます。劇遊びは、記憶のトレーニングと英語力のアップ、そして豊かな表現力とチームワークが身に付きます。
また、みんなで力を合わせて成し遂げる喜びを実感することのできる素晴らしいプログラムです！
場面を想定して行うため、実践的な英語力にも大きく繋がります。
将来は、女優さん俳優さんになるかもしれませんね！

Children learn theatrical act through their book of the month. They decide who will be which character and act out their plays. They pick out parts of the book which they can act out and learn the words to the story with the teacher’s narration. Students cooperate with their classmates and enjoy acting out the story. This process is a great way to train their memory and improve their English skills. They express their emotions freely and acquire teamwork. This is a wonderful program for the children to achieve their goals and share the sense of accomplishment. These children may be our future star actors and actresses!!

当スクールでは、サインランゲージを導入しています。サインランゲージとは、日本でいう手話に近いものですが、子供達の言語の発達と理解を助ける上でも、とても役立ちます！目で見て、更に耳でも聞いて、理解をしていく為、子供たちの記憶にもとても強く残ります。
毎月、テーマに合わせた単語を５・６個ずつ紹介していきます。子供たちの想像力には驚かされるほど、習ったサインを組み合わせて使うことも覚えていきます。

At Aloha, children are introduced to sign language. This is very useful to help children develop and understand their linguistic development. They comprehend and clearly remember what they see with their eyes and what they listen with their ears. Based on the monthly theme, several words are introduced to the children and they will learn to use them in many different situation.

Children are expected to arrive at school between 9:45 and 10:15 every morning. Also, the school bus will be scheduled to arrive at the school between 9:45 to 10:15. If your child is going to use the school bus service, the school will schedule the pick up time.

＊日本語での知育時間は自由参加です。ご希望のお子様のみ別途料金無しでご参加可能です。なお、スクールバスは日本語での知育指導終了後に出発致します。
Attendance for Japanese Learning Time is not mandatory. Children who wish　to attend can stay without extra charge of tuition. Please note that the school bus will leave after Japanese learning time.

本来インターナショナルスクールとは、日本に住む外国人の子どものための学校です。外国の子ども達が自国と同じような環境で生活できるように作られた学校であり、母国語が英語である子ども達が通います。外国の子ども達は、自国で使っている教科書を使い、言語だけでなく文化的な面でも違和感なく、学校生活を送ることができます。最近は本来の目的とは離れ、英語の習得のために子どもをインターに通わせたいと希望する日本人家庭も増えています。ですが、幼児期には英語の習得以上に発達段階に応じたカリキュラムが何よりも必要となり、子ども達にとって大切な発達の時期なのです。

当スクールでは、メインプログラムにより、日本が目指すアメリカの幼児教育クリエイティブカリキュラム®を使用し、英語力や発想力、自主性などさまざまな欧米の幼児教育と欧米文化を学びます。またそれと同時に「日本人としての育ち」も、とても大切に考えています。これから先、日本で生活していく子ども達には、日本人としての文化、感覚、ふるまい方を身につけることもとても重要なことです。日本の季節行事、伝統、感謝する心、あいさつなど園生活の中で子どもに身につけて欲しいこと、体験して欲しいことはたくさんあります。

また、欧米が「個」を大事にするのに対し、日本は「和」を大事にする、と言われるように、当園は子ども達一人一人の違いを理解し、個性を尊重することをとても大切にしながら、それと同時に協調性を大事にする日本の感覚も育んでいきたいと考えています。そのため、当園の子ども達には、メインプログラムに加え、日本人ティーチャーによる日本人としての教育や知育をサービスプログラムで行い、欧米と日本の両方の考え方を知り、バランスの取れた感覚を身につけて欲しいと、私たちは考えています。

もう一つ、インターと当園との大きな違いは、当園は入園に際して保護者の英語力を問わないという点です。インターでは担任の先生が外国人のみであるため、保護者との会話も全て英語になります。お便りなどの配布物も電話連絡も全て英語です。そのため、子どもの体調の異変、心の変化、小さな気づきなどを英語で伝えられた時、それを理解し、自身の考えを英語で返せる程度の英会話力、英語の文書を読み、意味をきちんと理解するだけの英語の読解力が保護者にも求められます。当スクールでは、ネイティブティーチャーと日本人ティーチャーのペアティーチングにより、日本人の担任がおります。日本人家庭に配布するお便りや、電話連絡などは日本語を使って行います。「子どもを園とご家庭、共に育てる」という視点に立ったとき、この点はとても重要なポイントになるでしょう。
